Free range basis for pedigree stock. The finest poultry should hatch in February or March. Use ten hens to one unrelated cockerel. Hens become fertile after three weeks with the cockerel. Allow for a three or four month rest from mating each year. Feed them upon seeds and green matter, never pellets. Six trap nest boxes are necessary for the ten hens. Log books contain full information on each bird. Eggs incubate after fourteen to twenty days. Cull out for any defects. In this way you constantly improve your stock. (19:53)
