Buckwheat: a Summer Cover Crop
Most gardeners are familiar with the value of growing winter cover crops to enrich and improve the soil, but not everyone knows that there are summer cover crops that can continue that process. Buckwheat was a plant that Alan Chadwick spoke highly of, praising its ability to add important minerals and humus to the garden beds. In this segment we demonstrate the use of buckwheat as a summer cover crop grown according to the Biodynamic French Intensive Method as developed by Alan Chadwick. (3:13)
